During the AAEP’s 57th Annual Convention, Nov. 18-22 in San Antonio, Texas, a group of 25 veterinarians is invited to participate in an Outreach Project at the Saddle Light Center, a non-profit therapeutic riding center located in Selma Texas.

The Center is dedicated to providing equestrian therapy for children, teenagers and adults with neurological, orthopedic, learning, emotional and other disabilities.

As noted in the announcement: "Your job as an equine veterinarian reflects your heart for horses, but you’ve always wanted to do more to give back to the equine community. You are invited to join your AAEP colleagues for the Good Works Outreach Project,

In addition to performing various volunteer duties and assisting with therapeutic riding sessions, you’ll pick up volunteering guidance from two local veterinary practices who support Saddle Light:  Retama Equine Hospital and Bracken Equine Clinic.

The event will connect you with like-minded colleagues who want to do more in their equine community to benefit the health and welfare of horses.

Space is limited to 25 participants and the registration fee of $25 will be donated to the Center to support its mission.
