Donkey among Abused Animals

According to a Humane Society Report, charges against DeKalb County residents are pending after a donkey riddled with open sores and other evidence of maltreatment was found on a Dekalb County property along with numberous other animals including several dozen sick and maltreated cats.

A special education teacher discovered the neglected donkey while driving on CR 59. When she reported the abuse, authorities found the other sick and abused animals on the property.

The animals were found on properties belonging to a couple and their daughter. Authorities are investigating and further charges related to animal cruelty may be forth coming.
