The Northeast Association of Equine Practitioners is currently holding their 2013 Annual Symposium from September 25-28, 2013 including 80 hours of continuing education featuring lameness, reproduction, and ophthalmic disorders.

According to the American Association of Professional Farriers, the event will feature leaders in the fields of lameness and imaging providing insight into injuries affecting sport horses, western performance horses, racehorses and gaited horses.

Experts in the fields of Internal Medicine, Lameness and Reproduction will also deliver sessions on neonatology, geriatric medicine, reproductive emergencies, and ophthalmic disorders affecting the foal and adult horse.

Wet labs in lameness/imaging, podiatry and – for the first time – ophthalmology will also form part of our diverse educational program. These sessions are approved for 21 AAPF/CAPF continuing education credits.

For horse owners, farriers are important partners in keeping horses healthy and functioning at their highest capacity. Given the training and experience of a capable farrier, any problems related to the hooves of the horse will be addressed in a professional way, increasing the productivity and enjoyment of both horse and owner.
