Dr. Nettie Liburt grew up on eastern Long Island, NY and has been a life-long horse person. She received her Master of Science degree in Animal Science from Rutgers University in 2005, and earned her PhD in January, 2011 (Equine Exercise Physiology & Nutrition).

Her research focused on the effects of age and exercise training on endocrine control of the cortisol response and insulin resistance. She worked as a Technical Equine Nutritionist for the Kent Nutrition Group/Blue Seal Feeds for 3 1/2 years, and is now an independent consultant on equine nutrition, exercise physiology and equine product development.
