Pfizer has joined forces with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) Foundation to fund three grants of $30,000 each for research studies of infectious diseases in small animals, livestock (excluding equine) and equines, and to administer the fund.
The call for Pfizer Grant proposals for research studies of inflammation, infectious disease and immunology in horses and other animals will be issued December 1, 2012 and will close on February 20, 2013.
The $120,000 fellowship fund is dedicated to research studies of inflammation, infectious disease and immunology in horses and other animals.
“The ACVIM Foundation is committed to eliminating animal and human disease by supporting discovery, education, and partnerships throughout the global community of medicine,” said Paige Heydon, Director of the ACVIM Foundation.
“This new strategic partnership with Pfizer Animal Health provides funding for advanced veterinary research that will go along way towards research around the diagnosis, treatment and/or prevention of disease in animals being conducted by ACVIM Diplomates”.
Grant proposals call will be issued December 1, 2012 and will close on February 20, 2013. Grants will be awarded by March 15, 2013. All approved grants must be completed within two years from the time the grant has been issued.
