Joan Norton VMD, DACVIM of Norton Veterinary Consulting and Education Resources (NVCER), will provide a series of accredited coursework for the equine practitioners. Dr. Norton, known as an energetic and engaging presenter, was recently a guest and subject matter expert on Health Matters on National Public Radio and Rick Lamb’s The Horse Show. She has also presented work at several veterinary conferences including AAEP and ACVIM.
In the second CE event of the series Dr. Norton will review, Pregnancy Diagnosis and Progesterone Levels in the Equine in the 15-minute Grab-A-Byte format that has been made popular by VetVine, allowing busy veterinarians to gain knowledge and CE credit in their valuable and limited spare time.
“As a veterinary diagnostic lab consultant, I get countless questions each spring regarding the use of hormone assays in the diagnosis of pregnancy and prediction of foaling in mares,” explained Dr. Norton. “While these tests give valuable information they can only be used as part of a diagnostic scheme for evaluating the pregnant mare. I will discuss what these tests can tell you throughout pregnancy and how to incorporate them into your physical and ultrasonographic exams for proper monitoring of pregnancy.”
